By the time most programs reach a veteran, the home is already lost. We were built to act earlier — in the window between a stable life and a housing crisis, while that crisis can still be prevented.

Veterans with a VA housing voucher who need a placement that meets program standards — and the support that helps it hold.

HOUSING STABILITY SUPPORT
We don't own or operate housing — we build the network that expands access to it. The Foundation partners with housing providers, agencies, and community organizations to open doors to stable housing for veterans, and guides veterans to the right opportunity at the right time.

Dr. Markeesha Reed
FOUNDER & FOUNDING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dr. Markeesha Reed founded the Reed Veteran Housing Foundation to close a gap she has seen up close. A service-disabled U.S. Army veteran with eight years of active-duty service and a deployment to Iraq, she understands the exact moment this foundation exists for — when a veteran with income and pride is quietly slipping toward losing their home.
She is also a proven builder and operator. Over the course of her entrepreneurial career, Dr. Reed founded, developed, managed, and personally captured more than $30 million in federal contract opportunities, growing and successfully exiting a federal contracting company. Her leadership has been recognized with the 2024 Governor's V3 Triumph Award and featured by the Washington Business Journal and the Virginia Department of Veterans Services.
She serves as the Foundation's non-voting Founding Executive Director, leading day-to-day execution under the direction of an independent board.

The Reed Veteran Housing Foundation was created to become part of a larger veteran housing ecosystem focused on prevention, stability, and long-term housing access.
Through partnerships with veteran-serving organizations, housing providers, public agencies, and community stakeholders, we are working to expand quality housing opportunities for veterans while preventing housing instability before it becomes homelessness.
Our vision is to build a scalable model that can be replicated across multiple states while maintaining the same standards of accountability, governance, and service.
